Strategic planning was initiated in 2019, following an 18-month collaborative, faculty-led planning process that led to notable initiatives, each maturing and producing impact at its own unique pace.

School of Public Health
Led by dean Sandro Galea, MD, DrPH, the School of Public Health is WashU’s first new school in 100 years.
School of Continuing & Professional Studies (CAPS)
CAPS reflects WashU’s strategic commitment to positive, regional educational attainment, economic mobility and workforce development.


Center for the Environment
This interdisciplinary hub strengthens and coordinates WashU’s work in environmental, climate change, and sustainability research.

WashU Leads: Bauer Leaders Academy
The George and Carol Bauer Leaders Academy, established through a $20 million gift, places leadership development at the center of the WashU student experience.
